How the world needs joy! How the world needs Jesus! Christians, who are supposed to be the shining light of the world, are engaged this week in keeping a pagan festival that is the most depressing time of the year, in spite of all the claims of Christmas joy. Such "joy" is misguided and does not compare with the joy we share with Jesus when we keep as we are doing now, His holy Sabbath day.

In His presence is "fullness of joy" (Ps. 16:11). But Jesus has not poured His presence into any day but the Sabbath. If we want to connect with His love and joy, we must meet Him on this day, not another. When we miss it, we miss the anointing of the "oil of joy" or "oil of gladness" (Isa. 61:3).

It is said of Jesus, "You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness; Therefore, God [the Father], Your God, has anointed You with the oil of joy above your fellows" (Ps. 45:7).

Do you want to be anointed with oil of joy above your fellow Christians who blindly follow the crowd without asking questions and keep Sunday, Christmas, and all the pagan holidays falsely baptized Christian? One of the surest ways is to open the Bible and read like a little child, ready to be taught and corrected, reading some simple verses: Exodus 20:8; Gen. 2:2-3; Mark 2:27-28; Hebrews 4:9-11, and alas! Matthew 24:20, where Jesus prophesies that the Sabbath day will be as much in force as the seasons. Jesus says in Genesis 8:22 that while this Earth remains, and the last time we checked it was still there, summer and winter shall not cease. Well, winter is still here, and so is the Sabbath. It is an eternal, perpetual covenant between God and HIs people (Ex. 31:13-16). Israel represents the believers, the people of God. In the First Testament, few were led by the Holy Spirit. Under the New Covenant, we all have the Holy Spirit in our hearts, and the law of love is supposed to be written on our hearts (Jeremiah 31; Hebrews 8). If it is written on our hearts, it will also be our practice.

The eve before the Sabbath is the time to lay down any turmoil of the week to greet Jesus, the King of Peace. When we ask, as do our young brothers and sisters in Red Deer, Alberta, for the grace to keep the Sabbath in joy and peace, we can truly picture the time when Jesus will bring in the seventh day Sabbath of 1000 years of peace. Our apostle's Bible studies on Tuesday are always insightful; some, however, we feel compelled to share. Here is a brief synopsis with a few additions.

Most Christians are still in levels one and two of faith. It is important to understand how we enter and grow in the levels of faith. Every man, believer or not, has a measure of faith (Rom. 12:3), which is the first level. And the first thing everyone learns about faith is that limitations to that faith exist. Those limitations cannot be overcome unless God gives us the grace to grow in the levels of faith as we accept that ability. It is often the prayers of others for us that allow us to begin to move into level two. What is it that allows this move to the second level? Joel Osteen, whom God has anointed especially for this purpose, practices this key. His first greeting on his TV program finds him warmly welcoming anyone who tunes in or wants to visit the church he pastors. It’s basically the typical welcome of Southern hospitality magnified...

In order to avoid certain problems that have arisen because of long blog threads, we request that you post any further comments on the Sabbath, Jesus' day of joy, under this heading until we reach about 60 comments. God says that in His presence is fullness of joy, and by making the Sabbath holy (Gen. 2:1-3), He was declaring that He poured Himself into this day. Keeping it and meeting Jesus on His day brings a joy that many Christians have not experienced. On this blog we have seen a whole church turn from Sunday to the Sabbath, and we have seen a number of house churches form as young and less young experience a joy they have not known before. We thank Jesus for the renewed interest in His day of joy, an indication that many will follow as the Bride of Jesus becomes spotless by His grace to keep all the commandments (John 14:15; Exodus 20).

We are continuing a series on “How Much Does the Flesh Profit?” The answer Jesus gave in John 6:63 is…nothing. And the Sabbath day is a day that helps us get rid of the works of the flesh. In our daily life in the week we sometimes get into a fleshly syndrome, or should we say, “sindrome”? We can lay down those works of the flesh in the first three hours before sunset on Friday. Do you have any works of the flesh to lay down this week? We do. We got excited about some brainstorming ideas we had to see how we, with the emphasis on we, could organize the blog as it grew. God showed us that those plans were not His when we saw a definite downturn on blog response. The full release will even require public repentance in our local church communion on the Sabbath day. We saw by experience that the flesh profits nothing. We have had many praise reports recently on our blog, and we hope you are all rejoicing. Some days don’t bring a lot of spontaneous rejoicing, however. Trials are a part of life, and God works through them to make us more like Him. Yesterday was a day of attack on our personal finances. As with many trials, these issues brought to mind roots that go way back, back into our past. And as often happens, God allows trials just before the new moon lay down time to bring to our minds the problems that need to be laid down to Jesus.

Peter speaks of a “salvation ready to be revealed in the last time” (1 Pet. 1:5-7) in the context of trials. We are indeed sometimes “distressed by various trials,” but God allows them so that our faith can grow through these fiery trials, and they will ultimately result in praise, glory, and honor when we meet Jesus literally. They also bring praise reports here and now, as we have seen on our blog.

Many believe it is a burden or yoke, and Satan has portrayed it that way because he knows it puts a yoke on him and takes his yokes off believers. When Jesus said to come to Him so He could give us rest (Mat. 11:28-30), the word for rest was the same Greek word used at the time in the Greek translation of the First Testament for Sabbath rest.

When the hypocritical religious crowd was all up in arms over Jesus’ healing of the woman who had been bent over with an evil spirit (the spirit of bent, caused by unconfessed sin that literally bends our body over) in Luke 13:10-17, Jesus taught that the Sabbath was the anointed and ideal day for being set free from Satan’s bondages.

Pastors need prayer, not bashing! And we ask forgiveness for any bashing we may have done. It’s a temptation all too easy to fall into when you hear some of the far out things some of our blogger Sabbath keepers hear from their pastors. We must understand, however, that pastors have been taught by professors that have been steeped in doctrines of demons. Changing their paradigm is a much more monumental task than most believers face. They need our prayers to be able to make such enormous changes. Their whole livelihood and the financial security of their families is at stake.

One TV evangelist is keeping the Sabbath in private, and he is asking the Holy Spirit how to deal with his church board who has threatened to fire him and thrust him out of the church God built through him. He gets great resistance from colleagues. His victory could be the catalyst the church needs to shake them out of the Sunday bondage Satan has put them in.

We have known her for 23 years. And if she had cursed her Colin like some on this blog who have, not realizing what constitutes a curse, cursed the original Colin, neither she nor he would be where they are today.

The bottom line and starting point for the Colins among us is forgiveness. Perhaps that’s why our book on forgiveness has encountered snags from the publisher to cause delays in its publication, even though it has been ready for some time.

The new moon turnover has brought us great freedom, and the pre-Sabbath turnover of our weekly cares has also been a great blessing. Since the Sabbath has been the area of greatest interest on our blog, we produced a short sampling of some of the Sabbath Q&A in a pdf document. Since we are all volunteers who lead active lives, we were not able to do a full edit and put titles on each entry. However, since they are all questions relating to a popular topic, we hope it will be helpful. Some of our readers have been able to download and print the Sabbath blogs.

When we finally decided to begin a blog, it was a totally new experience, and we didn’t know what to expect and wondered if we would have the time to keep it up. We never expected the kind of response we are getting, and we are extremely thankful for your feedback. Bon Courage!

An encouraging phrase we received and gave during our fifteen years of service in the ministry in France and Quebec was a phrase Jesus spoke to Joshua in Joshua 1: bon courage! Literally, it means, “good courage” or “take courage.” The Joshua anointing of courage of Joshua 1:8-9 is an anointing released for those who keep the Day of Pentecost on Sunday, June 12.

We can see that God is doing something with many of our readers. You are seeing that this world is upside down. Satan has deceived the whole world (Rev. 12:9), including the Christian world. “How can all these pastors and Christians be wrong?” is the cry of some. Well, it’s evident they are wrong when they are keeping days rooted in paganism and calling them Christian. It is evident they are wrong when they persecute and hate those who are beginning to step out in faith and courage to keep God’s days rather than Baal’s days.

They may not all know they are wrong because they are in the majority. But pretty soon a gut check...

This post will be our answer to a question on the Sabbath. Question:I also have heard Matt 24=20 used to say that the Sabbath is done away with. We were told that we are all called to be kings and priest and are therefore called to work on the Sabbath as ministers. The Sabbath therefore has to be done away with or we would be in sin and not the grace of God. And Jesus joy comes from seeing us do the work we were called to do. Glenn J Answer:In defending His priestly ministry and in breaking some of the pharisaical laws about eating grain on the Sabbath, Jesus spoke of the First Testament Priests breaking or profaning, so to speak, the Sabbath (Mat. 12:5). They could not have been literally breaking the Sabbath, since it is Jesus Himself who commanded them to make sacrifices on that day. In defending His Sabbath healing ministry, Jesus admitted that He was working (John 5:17), but that work was a spiritual and a holy work befitting His holy day. I begin to keep the Sabbath at about age 16 also, and my father was quite hostile to the idea, angry, and mocking in his comments, although he didn’t threaten to stop me or kick me out of the house. So we thank God that many of us have received the truth about the Sabbath and how we can lay down three hours before Friday sunset our weekly cares to Jesus so we can enter His special day of joy and rejoicing, no matter what our weekly circumstances have been.
